Community Service:
Bonton Farms
November 6, 2019
9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Working with Bonton Farms is an incredible opportunity for us to help the greater Dallas community. Please let me know if you would like to volunteer for the Bonton Farms philanthropy project by Friday, October 11h, as I will be opening up this opportunity to the rest of our club next week.
What is Bonton?
Our community was, not so long ago, one of the last places you’d go to find hope for a better tomorrow. The people here were sick and experienced high rates of diabetes, stroke and cancer. Having faced a long history of oppression, including racially motivated fire-bombings and a population wherein 48% of the people lived in poverty, we knew this community needed help cultivating change.
Who We Are
What started out as a garden in a small lot has grown into two fully functioning farms and the Bonton Market. We grow organic food and hope for a better tomorrow, right in the Bonton community and on a separate 40-acre farm south of Dallas. We’re determined to grow the best-tasting, healthiest produce in the city while inspiring hope in everyone around us. We also house free-range chickens, goats, turkeys, rabbits and beehives that provide an abundance of fresh eggs, milk and honey.

Reminder: Third Years are required to complete ONE volunteer opportunity and the options are: 1) clerking during one of the shifts at the Flower Show on April 2, 2020, or 2) joining us at our philanthropy project at Bonton Farms on November 6, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
